FOTD: Fourth of July AKA Better Late than Never

Alright, alright, alright.

Please let me know that you did say that in a Matthew McConaughey voice :P And, for the record, why the heck is his last name so awful to spell?! Screw that.

Okay, so after writing a lovely post (if I do say so myself), Blogger decided to delete my draft. Can I get a *second* screw that?! Yes, indeedy.

Where was I? Oh yes, the lovely Lindsay from Barefoot Styles (whose URL I will apparently be adding later, thanks Blogger app!) gently coaxed and prodded me to start up this blog again after my hiatus.

Why did I have a hiatus? Well, moving across the freaking country twice in a year kinda takes it out of you. Just a bit. Add to that employment changes and overall, what-the-heck-am-I-doing-with-my-life and takes up a bit of time.

Enough of all that. Let's get to the makeupz...YIPEEE!

The most sexily patriotic I will ever look. Haven't been the most visually outwardly patriotic pretty much ever but hey, was the Fourth of July. Celebrate with makeup...as in the American flag on my eyelids.

So, I was sitting in Mr. Boyfriend's room while he was at work (he has AC, ya'll; reason enough to stay there!). Brought my B & H Day and Night 60 eyeshadow palette with me because I needed SOME fun! Then, I did this, ta-da!

Damn, I'm like *Wonder Woman*! It is my mission to save you from the dullness in your makeup routine *salutes*.

For this look, I used:

Foundation: CoverGirl 3-in-1 in 110 Porcelain (HG! Along with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua compact)
Concealer: EsteĆ© Lauder's Smoothing Line concealer (not my fav but ran out of Maybelline's LumiTouch in Radiant)
Powder (over concealer): Milani
Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Just Beige as a primer
B & H Day and Night palette (red and blue eyeshadow, with a slight use of white shimmery shade for highlight/blending on brow bone)
Milani's white eyeshadow; BEST INTENSE WHITE EVER
Eyeliner: Stila's 24 hr liquid eyeliner in the black color
Mascara: Milani Runway Eyes and Michelle Phan's mascara from Ipsy. My eyelashes tend to curl more on one side than the other; hence, the need for multiple mascara usage.
Lips: Jordana's Rockin' Rouge Lip Stain- HG!

For the face, totally applied foundation with my fingers because A) I'm classy like that, and B) my Sonia Kashuk knockoff Beauty Blender took a dive off my sink while it was drying, into my pink trash can in October, never to be seen again.

Then, I put concealer in a triangle shape from the corner of my eye, partway down the side of my nose, and to my outer eye, helping to highlight the area (night owls do not look so awake in the day time).

After, I took Maybelline's Just Beige and applied it with my finger to the entire lid up to my eyebrow to cancel out discoloration. I then used my finger to apply red eyeshadow to the corners of my eyes. Next, I used Milani's intense white (B & H's seemed too subtle) to the middle of my lid. After, I used blue in the outer corner and did a v-shape. While I initially applied all eyeshadows with my fingers, I did use a blending brush to blend the fuck out of it and make it all soft and pretty.

Next, came the most difficult...liquid cat eye! Couldn't get the flicks to match. 15 minutes later... Mascara, lipstain, and good to go :D

Fortunately, I had some exciting plans with Ms. Lindsay of Barefoot Styles. Two words: Raspberry Mojitos...Happy 4th to us! Plus, I got to get some use out of this look on the town.

Until next time,

Milani Naturally Chic Lipstick Review

Hello glamnistas! Today, I am going to review Milani Naturally Chic lipstick!

It comes in a gold tube and tastes a bit like bubblegum...yum! Also, this lipstick is so natural looking, perfect for work and interviewing. The color is a reddish, mauve color, like the color of naturally red lips but better! It feels a little silky and moisturizing yet also doesn't seem to feather, fortunately.

I *ADORE* bright lipstick, but sometimes, you just gotta go more natural and subtle to reflect the appropriate style that you're going for and venue. Milani lipsticks are excellent, comparable to MAC in quality, have yummy tastes, good quality, and are definitely decently lasting on your lips.
Last but not least, they are cruelty-free! Horray!! You can find them at CVS, some Walmarts, and occasionally Walgreens.

Until next time,

Confession Time!

I am reading a new book!

Yep, ladies, this is going to help me towards my financial future. Unfortunately, although I know the theoretical knowledge of saving and spending, I've had a challenge in the past keeping track of everything.

Enter the FABULOUS Ms. Catey Hill w/ Shoo, Jimmy Choo!. This is packed with knowledge BUT presented in an easy, accessible way for all the Glamnistas in the world. Still reading it but so far, entertaining AND informative. Thank you!
Until next time,

Walmart Haul

Hello glamnistas!! Yesterday, I went to CVS and Walmart with my mom. Gotta have some perks, living with the parents in Kansas before I trek back to Oregon!

Anyways....

This is what I got!

As you can see, I got the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Skin Perfecting Primer. My first look at this is...it is just as *AMAZING* as everyone has been saying! When I put this primer on my face, it is so silky and soft unlike Smashbox's primer. I like this much better because I feel it gives me a little bit of dewyness AND gives me a flawless finish when paired with my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in Beige Rose.
Almost brought years to my eyes... *sniff sniff*!

I think I look pretty darn happy here ;)

Next off, we've got Rimmel's Scandaleyes Waterproof eyeliner in nude...OMG. Wow! I have tried white eyeliner on my water line and never like the results...BUT with this nude liner, I look more awake (thank god), and my eye looks brighter. What a beautiful liner! I am always finding ways to look more rested (since I sometimes am sleep challenged), and this seriously helped!

Next, we've got the Ecotools Six Piece Everyday Brush Collection. First off, I adore Ecotools. I tend to try to stick with cruelty-free products, when I can. Plus, their line of brushes is *SO* soft. This helps my skin to not get red and rashy from a dry brush. I bought this collection scarier I have been trying to contour more and better lately. However, my little MAC brush irritates my skin, and I find I much too small for good contouring (my friend gave me this). With the new contouring brush from this set, I get natural contouring results and am able to blend very well.

Until next time,
