Please let me know that you did say that in a Matthew McConaughey voice :P And, for the record, why the heck is his last name so awful to spell?! Screw that.
Okay, so after writing a lovely post (if I do say so myself), Blogger decided to delete my draft. Can I get a *second* screw that?! Yes, indeedy.
Where was I? Oh yes, the lovely Lindsay from Barefoot Styles (whose URL I will apparently be adding later, thanks Blogger app!) gently coaxed and prodded me to start up this blog again after my hiatus.
Why did I have a hiatus? Well, moving across the freaking country twice in a year kinda takes it out of you. Just a bit. Add to that employment changes and overall, what-the-heck-am-I-doing-with-my-life and takes up a bit of time.
Enough of all that. Let's get to the makeupz...YIPEEE!
The most sexily patriotic I will ever look. Haven't been the most visually outwardly patriotic pretty much ever but hey, was the Fourth of July. Celebrate with makeup...as in the American flag on my eyelids.
So, I was sitting in Mr. Boyfriend's room while he was at work (he has AC, ya'll; reason enough to stay there!). Brought my B & H Day and Night 60 eyeshadow palette with me because I needed SOME fun! Then, I did this, ta-da!
For this look, I used:
Foundation: CoverGirl 3-in-1 in 110 Porcelain (HG! Along with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua compact)
Concealer: EsteƩ Lauder's Smoothing Line concealer (not my fav but ran out of Maybelline's LumiTouch in Radiant)
Powder (over concealer): Milani
Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Just Beige as a primer
B & H Day and Night palette (red and blue eyeshadow, with a slight use of white shimmery shade for highlight/blending on brow bone)
Milani's white eyeshadow; BEST INTENSE WHITE EVER
Eyeliner: Stila's 24 hr liquid eyeliner in the black color
Mascara: Milani Runway Eyes and Michelle Phan's mascara from Ipsy. My eyelashes tend to curl more on one side than the other; hence, the need for multiple mascara usage.
Lips: Jordana's Rockin' Rouge Lip Stain- HG!
For the face, totally applied foundation with my fingers because A) I'm classy like that, and B) my Sonia Kashuk knockoff Beauty Blender took a dive off my sink while it was drying, into my pink trash can in October, never to be seen again.
Then, I put concealer in a triangle shape from the corner of my eye, partway down the side of my nose, and to my outer eye, helping to highlight the area (night owls do not look so awake in the day time).
After, I took Maybelline's Just Beige and applied it with my finger to the entire lid up to my eyebrow to cancel out discoloration. I then used my finger to apply red eyeshadow to the corners of my eyes. Next, I used Milani's intense white (B & H's seemed too subtle) to the middle of my lid. After, I used blue in the outer corner and did a v-shape. While I initially applied all eyeshadows with my fingers, I did use a blending brush to blend the fuck out of it and make it all soft and pretty.
Next, came the most difficult...liquid cat eye! Couldn't get the flicks to match. 15 minutes later... Mascara, lipstain, and good to go :D
Fortunately, I had some exciting plans with Ms. Lindsay of Barefoot Styles. Two words: Raspberry Mojitos...Happy 4th to us! Plus, I got to get some use out of this look on the town.
Until next time,
Ms. Glamtastic
